What it works out and how

A duvet has to be considerably wider than the mattress so it hangs over the sides and nobody ends up uncovered. The tool applies the usual chart: 90 cm bed, 155 × 220 duvet; 105 and 135 beds, 200 × 200 duvet; 150 bed, 220 × 220 duvet; and 160 and 180 beds, 240 × 220 duvet.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a larger duvet than recommended?

Yes. One size up gives more overhang, useful with a very deep mattress or when two people fight over the duvet.

Should the cover match the insert size?

Yes, the same size. A larger cover lets the insert slide around and a smaller one bunches it up.

Which weight should I choose?

It depends on bedroom temperature: light ones for summer or heated homes, and 250 to 300 g/m² or more for cold winters.
