What it works out and how
The converter uses a table of equivalents between the European, British and US men's and women's systems, along with foot length in centimetres, and interpolates when the value falls between two rows. For example, an EU 40 equals UK 6.5, US men's 7.5, US women's 9 and a foot of about 25.5 cm. It is a general reference: every brand has its own last.
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my foot?
Standing on a sheet of paper against the wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure to the heel. Do it in the afternoon, when feet are at their largest, and use the longer foot.
Why is the US women's size different from the men's?
They are two different scales: for the same foot, the women's size is roughly one and a half numbers higher than the men's.
Can I rely on it when buying online?
Use it as a guide and always check the brand's size chart, which usually gives the insole length for each size.
