Comparison

Fill in at least two products to compare their price per unit.

How to use it

  1. Enter the price and quantity of each product, up to three.
  2. Choose the unit for each: kilos, grams, litres, millilitres or units.
  3. Read the unit price of each product and which one is cheapest.

What it works out and how

The tool divides price by quantity, converts grams to kilos and millilitres to litres so the comparison is like for like, and works out the percentage saved by each option against the most expensive. Only products in the same unit family can be compared: weight with weight, volume with volume or units with units.

Frequently asked questions

Is the large pack always cheaper?

No. The medium pack, or a small one on offer, often has the better price per kilo. That is why it is worth working out.

How do I compare a 3-for-2?

Enter the price of two units and the quantity of three. The resulting unit price already reflects the offer.

What if one product is in kilos and another in litres?

They cannot be compared directly, because it depends on density. Look for the equivalent figure on the label, or compare by dose or by number of washes.
