How to use it

What it works out and how
The room area is increased by a waste allowance that depends on the material: 8% for laminate, 10% for parquet and 5% for vinyl. The total is divided by the square metres each box covers (2.2 m² by default) and rounded up, since boxes are not sold in parts. Check the coverage figure on the packaging of the product you plan to buy.
Frequently asked questions
Why does waste change with the material?
Vinyl is cut with a utility knife and produces little scrap; parquet has more boards rejected for grain or defects and offcuts that are harder to reuse.
What if the room is not rectangular?
Split it into rectangles, add up their areas and enter a length and width that give that total, or calculate each zone separately.
Should I keep a spare box?
Yes, it is worth it. An unopened box lets you repair a damaged board years later, when the product may be discontinued.
