What it works out and how
The default split assigns 45% to catering, 10% to the venue, 10% to photography, 8% to music, 8% to flowers and decoration, 6% to attire, 3% to stationery and 10% to contingencies. You can change every percentage. If you enter a price per guest, catering is calculated from that figure.
Frequently asked questions
Why set aside 10% for contingencies?
Because expenses that were not on the list always turn up: overtime, transport, last-minute alterations or added guests.
Which line is easiest to cut?
The guest count. With catering close to half the total, each guest fewer lowers the cost more than any other tweak.
Are the percentages a rule?
No, they are a common starting point. A couple who prioritise photography or music can raise those and lower others.
