How to use it

What it works out and how
The tool adds the chosen tip percentage to the total and divides the result equally among the diners. A bill of 120 with a 10% tip between four people comes to 33 each. It is meant for even splits; if people consumed very different amounts, splitting by what each had is fairer.
Frequently asked questions
Is tipping mandatory in Spain?
No. Service is included in the price and tipping is voluntary; rounding up or leaving 5 to 10% for good service is common.
What about other countries?
It varies a lot. In the United States 15 to 20% is expected; in Japan no tip is left. Check before you travel.
How do I split if someone did not drink alcohol?
Subtract the drinks from the total, split the rest among everyone and share the drinks only among those who had them.
